CNC Monitor, the first 100% free platform connecting all machining centers

intermach-GRV

Developed by GRV Software, the CNC Monitor program will be presented to the public during Intermach 2019.

The Brazilian machining industry gained a unique connectivity tool for the management of CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machines, which, in addition to interconnecting machines from different manufacturers and technologies, is available for free.

The novelty, launched in February this year, is national and a unique initiative at the market. Created by GRV Software, a company headquartered in Vinhedo (SP), CNC Monitor is a program that collects data from the machines and presents it in a single platform, in a simple and intuitive manner, allowing for the entire manufacturing line to be monitored. The access may be through any smartphone, since the Android and iOS application is also downloaded for free at Apple Store and Google Play.

 “In creating a cloud platform, GRV managed to decrease the investment in program maintenance, creating a low-cost, but high-impact product, for the substantiation of the 4.0 industry in Brazil”, stated Valcedir Pereira, Chief R&D Officer at GRV Software.

The first step towards the rise of CNC Monitor was through Mazak’s order to offer a connectivity program for its customers. From that moment on, a wave of opportunities was generated, allowing for GRV to develop and distribute the full tool for free, within two months only.

Pereira told that the main challenge was to connect older machines, which had incompatible protocols, to CNC Monitor. “In order to solve this issue, we created the CNC Monitor Adapter, which is an alternative solution. It is a hardware that enables the automatic access to information from older machines and/or machines not holding compatible protocols to CNC Monitor, by sending the data directly to the platform. In this case, the number of collected information is lower than the other ones that are compatible to the protocol MTConnect and OPC UA, in addition to enabling the connection to almost all FANUC and Siemens controls.

What is free for the companies:

  • CNC Monitor Server – responsible for sending the data from the machines to the cloud;
  • Web Platform – to access the main charts and clocks (cncmonior.com.br);
  • Application (Android and iOS) – to monitor the machines in real time (CNC Monitor);
  • Support – for punctual doubts.

Installation services, Adapter MTConnect, OPC UA licenses and CNC Monitor Adapter hardware must be directly purchased from the respective manufacturer. The platform is totally for free!
